EXPERIENCE:
- Two years of prior documented experience as a construction superintendent or similar
experience in the construction or architectural fields.
Position Function/Purpose
Oversee the daily operation and duties assigned to the Special Projects Forman as assigned by the Facility Design Supervisor or the Executive Director of School Plant & Construction Services. This position will facilitate and assist with the planning, and processing of work and work orders, for all annual assigned duties including holding safety audits, elevator inspections, general building maintenance inspections, etc. This position will facilitate the planning, coordination of work, and documentation of work, complete all assigned special projects pertaining to building systems, energy grants, building maintenance audits, etc.

Essential Functions
- Conduct the day to day operations of all assigned SPS special projects, and assigned in -house construction projects.
- Work directly with the supervisor of Facility Design in scheduling the repairs and modifications of building systems related to special projects.
- Maintain records, files and schedules of jobs or work orders including repairs, materials used, labor, etc. for all assigned projects.
- communicate with administrators in order to coordinate schedules and special projects for the least amount of disturbance to the campus environment.
- keep the facility design supervisor informed on all projects and work order status.
- consult with and assist other departments as directed by the facility design supervisor with projects and work orders that would be considered as special projects or building, modifications etc.
- work with principals and administrative staff on developing cost for projects requiring budget cost estimates.
- have the ability to follow instruction and be flexible to changes in work assignments and schedules
- follow and enforce the rules and regulations of school plant services department (sps), and the midland independent school district.
- responsible for maintaining, coordinate, and inspect the design, installation and quality control of contracted services related to special projects for the district
- responsible for maintaining all district and state records for all elevators in the district. responsible for working with contracted elevator service vendors regarding routine service, yearly maintenance, inspection of elevator units and to respond to all emergency elevator calls.
- perform yearly internal safety audits at designated campuses and submit subsequent computerized reports to the region 18 education service center.
- assist f.c.c.s. supervisor and maintenance operations supervisor/energy manager in project scope, and details related to obtaining grants for district projects.
- Work with campuses and other departmental staff to resolve and maintain proper code and compliance issues related to mechanical and storage rooms and associated equipment.
- as assigned, shall serve on the rotating 24 hour emergency on call beeper service for school plant services.
- assist the misd insurance agent with yearly facility inspections as assigned
- perform all other duties as assigned by the facility design supervisor or the executive director of school plant services.

Qualification Requirements
Minimum certification/education:
- Valid Texas Driver License and acceptable driving record; must adhere to Midland ISD’s vehicle safety and use program
- minimum supervisory experience in the construction industry or other similar experience.
