EDUCATION:   

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university

EXPERIENCE: 

  • Minimum of five years professional experience.
  • Deep knowledge of the subject-area content and evidence-based instructional strategies/practices.
  • Capacity to lead content-area teaching teams for the purpose of improving instruction and student achievement.
  • 2 years working with inventory systems.

POSITION FUNCTION/PURPOSE

Responsible for coordinating the acquisition, processing, storage, disbursement, and inventory of library and instructional materials in compliance with state and federal requirements, assisting in providing professional learning for staff.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Maintain open and continued communication with leaders and teachers for a united approach to curriculum

resource utilization

2. Create professional learning aligned to the inventory and disbursement of curriculum resources

3. Perform all aspects of the requisition, exchange, and distribution of instructional materials in accordance with

state and district regulations, policies, and guidelines

4. Implement and maintain an instructional materials inventory management system that ensures appropriate

quantities of instructional materials are available at each campus and throughout the district

5. Recommend replacement and disposal of assets when necessary

6. Conduct an annual physical inventory of the district’s instructional materials

7. Train campus staff to use established procedures and guidelines to effectively and efficiently implement a site-

by-site instructional materials inventory management and distribution system.

8. Work with district accounting, purchasing, and distribution services to ensure the timely receipt, identification,

and recording of newly acquired instructional materials

9. Use records management and administration procedures to ensure inventory records are maintained,

preserved, and disposed of in accordance with the requirements of state and district regulations, policies, and

guidelines

10. Compile, maintain, and share all reports, records, and other documents, as required

11. Work closely with warehouse staff to provide campuses with needed materials

12. Facilitate the use of district resources and facilities for professional learning, as requested

13. Participate in resource selection committees, as requested

14. Serve as a communication liaison between teachers, campus administration, and district staff to ensure

information is disseminated in an accurate and effective way

15. Provide technical support for online programs used to access instructional materials and assessment data, as

requested

16. Serve as the lead of the Instructional Materials and Technology Allotment (IMTA) and as a resource person to

the adoption committees during the selection of resources being considered for adoption

17. Assist in maintaining the Teaching and Learning Department websites, as requested

18. Manage inventory of resources, supplies, and materials, including district-purchased equipment and kits

19. Work collaboratively with vendors to secure quotes, order materials, and to track shipment information

20. Assist in organizing and planning for summer learning programs, instructional materials, and activities, as

requested

21. Attend relevant school, district, and professional meetings

22. Participate in professional learning opportunities

23. Regular and reliable attendance is an essential job function

24. Perform other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

1. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills

2. Strong knowledge of instructional materials and requisitions

3. Ability to develop spreadsheets and databases, utilize Google Suite applications, and use inventory and

records management software

4. Ability to read and interpret documents such as government rules, procedure manuals, and safety rules

5. Ability to work collaboratively in a team setting

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Must be able to maintain emotional control under stress.
