Position Function/Purpose

To upload pupil information from the District's studet data base and creates the most efficient and cost effective route(s) per the needs of the District.  Updatesand maintains various school transportation routing maps and bus routes/schedules.  Effectively facilitates and manages the flow of information pertaining to pupil data as needed.  Maintains the highest level of ethical behavior with campus administrators, fellow employees and our community.

 

Major Responsibilities

  1. Maintains and coordinates the infofinder servers.
  2. Maintains and manages the district's demographic and routing program (Infofinder).
  3. Maintains and updates Infofinders maps.
  4. Coordinates and downloading of the MISD map into Infofinder GIS Import Utility.
  5. Maintains and updaates Infofinder student database and address information.
  6. Coordinates any upgrades with the Infofinder program.
  7. Installs new versions or upgrades on the servers and all workstations.
  8. Maintains and manages Infofinder.
  9. Coordinates student data exchange between ITCCS and Infofinder.
  10. Provides data support for boundary planning and redistricting projects.
  11. Provides transportation information to students, parents, and district staff.
  12. Assists with department annual reports.
  13. Cross-trains routing staff on all functions.
  14. Trains transportation staff to efficiently use Infofinder.
  15. Trains MISD support staff in the use of the Infofinder program.
  16. Writes protocols procedures, and processes to clarify the use of different applicaations regarding MISD routing.
  17. Coordinates and schedules summer program routes.
  18. Notifies bus drivers, and public of ny changes in bus routes and schedules.

 

Qualification Requirements

  1. High School Diploma or GED
  2. Class B CDL w/ P & S endorsements
  3. Texas School Bus Driver Safety Training Certificate
  4. Ability to read and write English
  5. Good Telephone skills
  6. Basic Typing skills
  7. Basic Computer knowledge
  8. Effective interpersonal skills
  9. Must be able to complete all training requirements within 60 days of employment.
  10. Possess operation/functional knowledge of computerized routing system (Infofinder preferred).
  11. Knowledge of demographic and transportation routing software (Route Finder)
  12. Ability to work effectively with campus principals, staff, students, and parents.
  13. Strong organization skills and group presentation skills.
  14. Excellent interpersonal skills and well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  15. Must be knowledgeable in adult training techniques and possess a mechanical aptitude, and strong leadership skills.
  16. Computer literate, preferably in word processing, Access, and spreadsheets.
  17. Basic math skills, detail orientation, mapping and routing skills.
  18. Experienced in coordinating new and revised bus routes and schedules.
  19. Two years of experience as a certified school bus driver.
  20. Responsible for driving a.m. and p.m. route assignment.
